Players can only join the Minds At Play server if they have received our unique link. Our Discord server is age-gated and protected and will be moderated. Participants will only be able to see their group within the discord which will encourage the players to communicate outside their group times in moderated spaces.
Our younger participants will not have access to the general chat and will not have the ability to be privately messaged by other members on the server.
Once the player has signed into the Minds At Play Discord Server, they will be allocated to their specific table and will only have access to the players on it.
Only our 18+ players will have access to our general chat.
This is safer than almost anywhere else you could play Minecraft. That is because our players will work with our experienced Games Master who will make sure that everyone is using friendly voices and doing friendly things.
Only players that Minds At Play have let into the game can participate in our community area, so they are safe from outsiders. Also, we have clear charters for our players about how we speak to others, treat each other’s work, and protect what each other has built.
Our programs are designed to help improve social and communication skills and we achieve this using Dungeons and Dragons, and Minecraft as a delivery platform. We have custom-built adventures and worlds specifically for our players that are facilitated by experienced Games Masters in a fun and safe environment.
We have also recently partnered with two leading-edge tabletop gaming technology applications, TaleSpire and Eldridge Foundry. These awesome tools will take the level of engagement to the next level and make the 10-week experience a great mechanism to help develop social, cognitive, and other life skills.
When our players describe their characters, we can build a digital representation to match what they want their character to look like, and our players can use that character in a digital world built specifically for our custom adventures.
We also have super friendly, experienced, and professional Games Masters who have a passion for storytelling and running the sessions with inclusivity in mind so every player in the group gets the same high-quality experience.
Our objective is to help build social and communication skills in people who need it most and do it in a fun and enjoyable way 2.5 hours a week over the school term.
The program can also be covered under NDIS funding.
