Embark on an unforgettable adventure and experience the magic of Dungeons and Dragons in a fun, social, and inclusive environment.

Minds at Play recognises the challenges often associated with engaging children, youth and adults with disabilities. Our participants get to have a positive social experience while playing fantasy-based role-playing games, in a safe environment.

Available for ages 9 and up, our Dungeons & Dragons program is a social gaming adventure for children, youth, and adults on the Autism Spectrum. The program runs online for 2 or 2.5 hours (depending on the age group) a week during a school term.

Our bespoke adventures are carefully crafted to provide engaging social encounters and promote teamwork. Through thrilling quests and imaginative storytelling, players will embark on a journey that encourages communication, boosts confidence, and fosters social growth. Our dedicated team ensures a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where everyone can shine.

What we’ll work on:

– Verbal and non-verbal communication– using language and text skills to express ideas and feelings
– Social skills– helping your child make friends, greet others, develop sharing and turn-taking skills.
– Explore Self – Through the use of characters and role-playing
– Conflict resolution– working through differences for a shared aim
– Collaboration– by working as a group to achieve a common goal
– Joint problem-solving, sharing and turn-taking – taking turns in their roles, working together to achieve an outcome
– Gain Confidence– Through bonding over the adventure
– Creativity– in solution to problems and puzzles presented
– Emotional development– learning to understand and talk about emotions (their own and other people’s), conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
– Communication and literacy skills– expanding vocabulary around social and emotional development, increasing literacy skills and language development through peer activities
